BBC Radio 6 Music Announces 2026 Artists of the Year

BBC Radio 6 Music has officially unveiled its Artists of the Year 2026, celebrating a transformative lineup of musical innovators who defined the sound and culture of the past twelve months. The announcement was made by presenter Nick Grimshaw on his Breakfast Show, featuring a mix of established and breakthrough acts recognized for their creativity, musical innovation, and cultural impact.

The 2026 roster includes beabadoobee, Charli XCX, corto.alto, Erykah Badu, Fontaines D.C., Madra Salach, Mandy, Indiana, Phoebe Bridgers, Robyn, Show Me the Body, Shygirl, and The Cure. These artists represent a wide spectrum of genres—from raw post-punk and neo-soul to cutting-edge electronic and reimagined traditional folk—exemplifying the station's commitment to boundary-pushing music.

Beabadoobee expressed her gratitude, stating, "Aaah I’m so happy to be one of 6 Music’s Artists of the Year! I really appreciate how much of my music they’ve played over the years and how much new music they champion." Charli XCX also shared her appreciation, saying, "It’s really special to be recognised by 6 Music. Thank you so much for this and for all that you do in championing artists who push things into more challenging sonic places."

To celebrate this honor, 6 Music is rolling out a multi-platform celebration across radio, BBC Sounds, and BBC iPlayer, showcasing the defining moments and contributions of these artists throughout the year.
