Timbaland Sues Former Managers for $15 Million Over Alleged Financial Mismanagement

Grammy-winning producer Timbaland, born Timothy Mosley, has initiated a $15 million lawsuit against his former manager, Gary Marella, and former business manager, Bruce Seckendorf. The lawsuit, filed on October 30, 2026, in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges fraud, civil theft, and breach of fiduciary duty.

The 65-page complaint accuses Marella of taking unauthorized commissions, fees, and reimbursements, using Timbaland's funds to pay his own employees, and falsifying financial records to conceal these actions. Additionally, Seckendorf's firm is accused of failing to pay Timbaland's mortgage, leading to a foreclosure notice, and not paying substantial federal taxes, resulting in penalties and interest. Despite these issues, the firm continued to pay itself and others significant commissions and fees.

Timbaland discovered these alleged financial discrepancies after receiving a foreclosure notice on his home in 2025. In response, he terminated both managers in 2025. The lawsuit seeks to recover the losses and prevent the unauthorized use of Timbaland's name for the defendants' benefit. As of now, neither Marella nor Seckendorf has publicly responded to the allegations.
